Lhab Dorji, President of the Jigme Dorji Wangchuk National Referral Hospital (JDWNRH) handed over his kabney (scarf) and patang (sword) to the Chairman, Royal Privy Council on 30th December, 2014 on his appointment as the President of JDWNRH. The former Wangduephodrang Dzongdag, Lhendup Wangchuk too removed his Kabney (scarf) and Patang (sword) on his appointment as the Commission Member of the Royal Civil Service Commission.

The Royal Civil Service Commission acknowledges the exemplary manner in which these two distinguished civil servants have conducted themselves. It is a timely reminder of the common knowledge that position based Kabney and Patang must be relinquished when the person relinquishes that position. The Royal Civil Service Commission encourages all civil servants to follow this example voluntarily so that the Commission does not have to enforce it.
